Everybody can agree that having good skin is the goal. Many people think that bad skin is a result of bad grooming when it is possible for a person’s personal hygiene to perfect and have breakouts. Everybody has acne at some point in their lives.

Lots of things cause acne to happen which is why pretty much everyone suffers from it at some point. Even though the breakouts we face as adults are not usually as severe as the breakouts we faced as teenagers, our skin will still flare up every once in a while, and knowing how to prevent that from happening is simply part of becoming an adult. Here are some tips to help keep your skin clear and acne-free.

Vitamins and Minerals

Do you get enough of your daily vitamins and minerals? Believe it or not, some people react to malnutrition by breaking out. Acne is sometimes a sign that you are not getting the right vitamins and minerals that you need. Correcting this type of acne could be as easy as taking a multi-vitamin each day. Vitamins might seem like an easy fix and it is true that they won’t fix everything but they can help make up for some of the nutritional deficiencies you are experiencing. The reason you break out when you are malnutrition is that your body starts producing more sebum which will clog your pores and make it easier for you to break out (and for bacteria to get in). This type of acne is easily beaten by eating a healthy diet and taking your vitamins every day.

Hygiene

Try not to touch your face. The majority of the population doesn’t realize just how much time they spend touching their faces every day. Acne issues can partly be blamed on how much time people let their hands rest on their faces. Think about it for a minute. Touching your face after you touch an object is sort of like resting your face on the object that you touched. When rest your face in your hands, the oil from your hands is transferred to your face and clogs the pores. This is also one of the reasons colds are so easily transmitted: you touch something that has germs on it and later brush your face with your hands which gives those germs easy access to your nose, mouth and eyes–prime entry portals! So keep your hands off of your face.

Keeping your hands clean is a must if you can’t make yourself stop touching your face. Keep the zits away by washing your hands a lot throughout every day.

Stress

Reduce your stress! Believe it or not, for many people, stress levels directly impact the size and scope of an acne breakout. Make some time for relaxation every day. Teach yourself some simple calming exercises that you can use when your stress level starts to climb. If your regular lifestyle is highly stressed, think about slowing it down a little. Finding time for yourself is imperative for your mental health and it is important for your skin! Acne can be caused by a wide variety of things. The size and scope of a person’s breakouts are not important–what is important is knowing that you are not the only one who gets acne. People of all ages get acne and some need more help with it than others. There is a huge variety of solutions for people who suffer from skin issues. Your acne might only need to be spot treated with a mild cleanser you get at the supermarket. Your acne might be strong enough that a doctor’s help is needed. Just keep trying and soon you’ll find the solution you’ve been looking for!
